We are delighted that you have chosen Costa de Cocos Dive to do your Open Water course. Here’s a description of the course procedure so you know what to expect.
Price: $1,100 MXN
Duration: 3-4 days
Minimum Age: 10 years
Registration and Theory
Upon arrival at our facilities, you will be greeted by our friendly instructors and will guide you through the registration process. Afterwards, we will start with the theoretical class, where you will learn the fundamentals of diving, including physical principles, breathing techniques and underwater safety. We will use teaching materials, how-to videos, and interactive sessions to help understand key concepts.
Open Water Dive
Once you have completed the theory. You will do 5 dives in the impressive reefs of Xcalak and in cenotes of the region, where you will have the opportunity to explore the rich marine life or the magical life of the jungle. During these dives, you will be accompanied by one of our instructors, who will monitor your progress and provide additional guidance.
Evaluation and Certification
As you progress through the course, you will be given practical and theoretical assessment to make sure you have acquired the necessary skills. Upon completion of the course, you will receive the internationally recognized Advanced Open Water Diver certification. This certification will allow you to dive to a depth of 30 meters and night diving & reduced visibility opening the doors to new underwater adventures around the world!
